STYLED FOR FALL AT VOGUE STARRING FOSSIL

Yesterday, Fossil and VOGUE hosted one of the most innovative, interactive press previews I’ve ever been to. Though I don’t mind knocking back a few specially made cocktails and noshing on passed hor d’oeuvres, I prefer to feel a part of any situation I’m in.

So rather than talking at us, Fossil and VOGUE let us be the stylists utilizing pieces from the racks of clothes provided while focusing on Fossil’s Fall/Winter collection. Overflowing with color, animal print and statement pieces that could be dressed up or down, Fossil’s collection this year was different from years past. It’s grown from the go to piece everyone wanted fromBUCKLE circa 2004 alongside Baby-G to a grown, more ageless accessories line.

Our challenge was as follows: When instructed, take pieces from the racks of clothes provided for looks accessorized based on one of three themes – Seeing Spots, Stack in Style, and Heat Things Up.

I opted for doing  the first two. My focal point was the pinstripe, Banana Republic skirt. I chose to take something loud, accessorize it with something loud and tone it down with something neutral. That way it caught your eye, but didn’t seem obnoxious. And for my second ensemble I kept it simple with green tarten button down, cropped denim vest, rich plum trousers accessorized with a rose gold studs, watch and silver bracelet because jewelry tones should always be mixed. Or at least I think. And  if I do say so myself, these two are my favorite of the bunch.
