Today is an unusual Makeup Monday as it doesn’t involve products that we typically consider makeup. No mascara. No eyeliner. No lipstick. Just 1-Day Acuvue Define disposables that give that give you a makeup enhanced look. Wait, does that make sense?
1-Day Acuvue Define is the latest additive to the Johnson & Johnson vision division, in the Western Arena. Formulated with LACREON Technology, these lenses are meant to accentuate the natural beauty of the eyes in two ways. 1. They create a clearly defined limbal ring (I’ll explain this later on), and 2. Using light-effect designs they create depth and dimension without changing the natural color of one’s eyes. Hence why it’s makeup for your eyes! It adds a little sparkle, shimmer and shine, to an already beautiful you.
Now we’re going to get a little science for a second. Johnson & Johnson have done years of extensive research with this product in particular. In Asia, this similar lens has been around for over a decade, so it’s not anything new. Throughout this research, a few interesting facts were discovered, one that really stuck out, like people are more attracted to women and men with limbal rings (there’s that word again), as it’s associated with a healthier, youthful appearance. And it’s true, for me personally, it is. How many times have you seen someone with deep green eyes that sort of blends out into their sclera (the white part of your eye)? Now imagine those deep greens encircled by a defined limbal ring (outline around the iris). It’s like when you’re coloring a photo and you outline each section with the respective color. It add artistic dimension. Just like lip liner, or eye liner, or hair highlights. There all little tricks we do to enhance our beauty.
1-Day Acuvue Define is available in three options – Sparkle, Shimmer, and Shine. Currently available in dailies only and through select eye doctors. Since it’s a new launch they haven’t been able to get it in the hands of eye doctors everywhere. Soon though, very soon.
