JCPENNEY’S MODERN DAY FAIRYTALE

For many, New York Fashion Week is the bane to one’s existence. To others, especially the bright-eyed bushy tailed newbies that enjoy the glitz and glam of this week for the first time, it’s nothing short of a fairytale. And what a more perfect way to start this spectacular week than with JCPenney’s “A Modern Day Fairytale” brunch to celebrate its retail collaboration with Disney to promote the release of Cinderella.

Nine students of Kent State University live sketched their interpretation of a modern day fairytale look using the actual gown from the film for inspiration. As they sketched judges including actress Katie Holmes, Marie Claire Creative Director and JCPenney Style Voice Nina Garcia, and JCPenney Design partner Charlotte Ronson spoke with each student individually about their piece before deciding on their final winner – Jay Lewis. (Who we coicidently captured discussing his work with Charlotte and Katie. We’re good juju, Jay!)
