Jonny Johansson’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection for ACNE took a sharp turn this season featuring softer fabrics, lighter colors, and a rustic-western girl but, all while sticking to the truly ACNE wearer’s world of hard-edged rocker chic. Words were boldly splattered across simple tees shouting proudly the inspiration for ACNE this season… ‘MUSIC’, ‘NEW’ and ‘COLLAGE’. Emmylou Harris’ cover of Neil Young’s hit “Wrecking Ball” was an inspiration and just as the song suggests Jonny and his team took a Wrecking Ball to clichés and with true talent created a NEW-ness by juxtaposing two very different genres – Country and Rock.
Themes – Western meets Rocker Chic
Colors – Lilac, black, white, beige, mustard, brown, kelly green, red, navy blue
Key Items – Deconstructed romantic poet-blouses; voluminous bare-shouldered dresses; graphic leather jackets and bondage buckles on skirts; jackets; pants.
Prints/Patterns – A splash of some jail stripes were prominent in some pants and jackets

You’re a full blown Lower East Side girl hanging at what used to be CBGB when all of a sudden someone drops you in the middle of Oklahoma and you must make chic ensembles from left over belt buckles, knee high platforms you cut to allow your legs to breath, some clean linen sheets and oh… A Cowboy Hat.
