I’m sure many of you know, or don’t know, that I’ve been natural for a year now! YAAAAY! I know… it’s such a great feeling to get to know your natural definition, curl pattern, etc., without the constant trips to the salon for a relaxer. The only downside is that I’ve gone through trial after trial discovering what didn’t work, from what mainstream claimed worked.
Recently, a new e-commerce, Loxa Beauty, reached out about what they’re doing in terms of shopping for beauty. At first I thought it was just another e-tailer jumping on the scene, but they actually are really cool. First of all, they are the first and only e-commerce that gives a percentage of every online product purchase to a salon or hairstylist. If you don’t indicate your preferred salon or hairstylist, the Loxa algorithm finds and assigns the sale to someone else local. Secondly, they are a subsidiary of the always faithful Sally’s Beauty Supply [it’s properly known as Sally Beauty Holding, but we normal folk know it as otherwise]. I don’t know if you all know Ms. Sally, but we Southern ladies know her as the place to buy EVERYTHING for hair and nail care. And that’s what Loxa Beauty is like. It took the comfort and reliability of Sally’s, online.
But for me, one of the reasons I love Loxa is their hair blog with a natural section! There are so many informative posts about different styles, how to clean, what products to use, and so on. And while they do recommend items available on their site, they also recommend outside the brands they offer. Like using coconut oil as a pre-wash treatment. It offers information on what it does, how it helps, and what to look for when purchasing. All things I was not aware of myself.
