Hallucinogenic Suit Rave: Daniella Kallmeyer brought late 80s culture to the 21stcentury New York runways. Her A/W 2012 Collection was reminiscent of the heyday of rave intertwined with early 90s suiting; where asymmetrical lines, boxy jackets and pantyhose were an outfit must-have.
Trend: Kallmeyer’s detailed shoulder stitching, asymmetrical lines, back cut-outs, holographic prints and patent leather accents were key elements that set this collection apart. As most ensembles were paired with sheer black pantyhose including the slacks, others were paired with handbags – a fur clutch, a black holographic clutch and patent leather backpack handbag to be exact.
Key Pieces: The heather grey, penguin tailed, asymmetrical suit skirt, lined with a holographic pattern and the contrast colored, motorcycle blazer stood out in this collection.
Key Colors: Black, heather grey, navy and neon orange.
Accessories: Pointy-toe stilettos, stacked heel booties and variable handbags.
Sass: This wearable, rave resonant collection mixed trendy items with seasonal staples fit for the 21st century, fashion forward femme.
