RESTAURANT HOTSPOTS IN TORONTO!

Bosk

Bosk, located inside the oh-so chic Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto, mixes contemporary cuisine and old-world techniques to create dishes so succulent and mouthwatering, you’ll want to try everything on the menu. With a sommelier currently studying to join the ranks of world renowned Master Sommeliers (there are only 180 worldwide, 3 in Canada), their knowledge of wine pairing is so on point, they make it seem so innate and simple. Besides the food, the one noted experience future guests should pay close attention to is the friendliness and professional service of the staff. Make sure to try the Icewine with your dessert… you won’t regret it. My dish of choice: Corn Fed Chicken with polenta fritters, butternut squash purée, and a warm apple hazelnut vinaigrette.

iQ-Food-Co

iQ Food Co. is what I would call the healthier version of Chipotle. Maybe that’s actually an insult, but it’s the easiest way to describe it. It portrays similar serving concepts except all of their ingredients are produced and bought locally, ultimately putting revenue back into Toronto’s economy. They have precise timing where the customer who comes in after you will never be served before you. iQ has 3 locations in Toronto’s Financial District as its main client base is for those who work long hour days and need something to energize them; not send them into a food coma. Everything served is made in house, from scratch, by a real chef. Plus they have a staple menu and a seasonal menu that changes quarterly. How many “fast food” places do you know can say that? My dish of choice: Lima Box.

LA_SOCIETE_logo_FINAL

La Société, located on the fashionably popular Bloor Street, offers Parisian style gastronomy with a Toronto city feel. Designed after France’s 1920 interior architecture aesthetic, one immediately feels they’ve entered a room filled with Hemingways and Dalis ogling the native flapper beauties. Not the best place for the vegans as they have a very set menu during certain times, but very welcoming to the lovers of good food and great company. Plus if a sit down meal isn’t what you’re after, their 30 seater bar welcomes you with their finest rosé. My dish of choice: Blueberry and Ricotta Pancakes with Canadian Maple Syrup.

MoRoCo

MoRoCo derived from the names of MoRoCo Chocolat creators’ children by taking the first two letters of each of their names – Montana, Rory and Cocoa is Toronto’s go-to chocolate boutique and lounge. All creations are handcrafted using fresh, top shelf ingredients and no artificial preservative or additives in their in-house lab – which you watch from the dining area – by a native French Chocolatier with the accent to boot. Don’t fret, they may specialize indecadent desserts but they have a food menu featuring savory filled crêpes and lobster mac n’ cheese. My dish of choice: The Melteaser.

One-Restaurant SPiN-logo

part of the exclusive Hazelton Hotel and McEwan Group, is the A-listers go to spot for fine dining. With dim lighting for that special ambiance, hidden dining for private dinners away from the public and a menu filled with delicacies such as Seared Foie Gras on a cranberry buttermilk pancake, with apple vanilla puree, maple butter and gingerbread (clean up that drool before anyone notices) – places like this make Toronto a true foodie city. Combine it with their personable staff; One Restaurant will definitely hold their rank for decades to come. My dish of choice: Unfortunately, I can’t choose just one. I can’t even choose just three.
