MAKEUP MONDAY | CND SHELLAC

If you can’t tell from my Instagram, I love my nails. I actually, I love my hands and feel that my nails are an accessory that must always look beautiful. Because at the end of the day, when parts of you that you love look nice, you always feel your best. No matter how crazy your hair or ensemble seem that day.

This time, I had the chance to try out CND Shellac. CND Shellac is a 3-part system – Base Coat, Color Coat, Top Coat – with each coat cured in the special CND UV Lamp, resulting in no extra time needed for drying.  This type of gel is high-shine and durable, with an intention of lasting 2 or more weeks

Nails on November 4th, 2013

I’ve never had a CND Shellac manicure before, but have had gel done several times – mainly CalGel and Bio Sculpture. One main difference is CND takes the same time as regular manicure, but with a gel result. It doesn’t burn under their special UV lamp, is strong enough to ensure you won’t break a nail, but the most astonishing part was the high gloss finish. My. Goodness! It looked as though my nails had been dipped in a vat of Vaseline and wiped clean. It glistened in every degree of light, till the day I removed it. Which happened to be yesterday!

That’s right, from November 4th until November 24th, I wore my “Blue Rapture” shade with pride. The only reason I removed it was to try another nail brand, otherwise I would have worn it clear through the New Years. Ok… that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but you catch my drift. Yes… and you did read I removed it at home, WHICH, isn’t recommended at all. I luckily just have all the utensils necessary for removal.
