FIAF LUNCH & TALK W/ FRANÇOISE GILOT + LISA ALTHER

About-Women-Book-Jacket-Front-CoverAmerican writer Lisa Alther and French artist Françoise Gilot come together for Lunch & Talkseries at The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) honoring the launch of their book, About Women: Conversations Between a Writer and a Painter.

About Women reads like a conversation between friends reliving their lives from start to present. Each moments allows you to see both parties point of view when they are parallel and intersect as they touch upon the subjects that women are still fearful to discuss today – love, self-realization, feminism, parenting, and so on. Having being raised in very different parts of the world, Gilot in Paris and Alther in a small town in Tennessee, with generations between them, the commonalities are still there.

This Wednesday, you can see and hear the melding of these two great minds in the flesh!Françoise Gilot a regarded artist in her own right, was a muse to Picasso, and Officier de la Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honor), and Lisa Alther is a celebrated writer most known for her novel Kinflicks, will discuss over lunch their experiences as women; followed by a book signing.
