BEAUTY HOTSPOT | SPANAIL BY NAILQUICK

I love my nails. I truly do. If you actually look at my Instagram, you’ll see several photos of just my hands. Specifically showing off my latest manicure at different events like rereading “The Great Gatsby” before the movie premiere, or glowing in the dark as I open the hotel mini-bar at The Fairmont Royal York.

Anyway, I’ve been sticking with one spot in New York and though I love the aftermath every time, you’d find me returning a few days later, just to replace a nail that popped off. Therefore, when I found out about SPANAIL by NailQuick, I thought, “It’s worth a try.”

Let me just say… I’ve been there twice and never has a nail chipped or popped off. Plus as they do an actual manicure where they care for your nails through soak treatments, cleaning cuticles, the whole nine yards, nary will your nails be dehydrated or weak.

PANAIL by NailQuick is the first stateside location, but has over 70 locations in Japan. The salon offers gel manicures, nail color and nail care with new age ways of creating nail art known as “Tarashikomi“; a style based on old Japanese traditional water painting, therefore literally bringing an element of art to “nail art”. My artist and General Manager, Maki Mochiyoshi, was trained for several years in Japan before being chosen to open the salon in SoHo. She’s renowned for her attention to detail and true knowledge of proper nail management.

Located in the always stylish Soho, their décor was specifically chosen for the busy New York Lady. Hang your purse up on the tree branch hook next to you. Enjoy a calming cup of tea or cooling glass of water and let these artists beautify your nails, like no other place will.
