Backstage @ Jill Stuart SS’17 | ZOYA

Nail Inspiration: Naomi Gonzalez, lead manicurist for ZOYA
“She just picked something fun, something simple, something basic, but again something that represents romantic feminism. Especially with SS17 coming in, I think you will see lots of color, lots of vibrancy. I think that’s the new trend for nail shapes definitely short. Either square or short round.”

The Look:“The thing about Jill’s nails look today  is that it has color. She’s never done color before. It’s always been really pale, pale pink for natural. What we have here is Zoya, Mia. It is like the perfect mauve-y pink. It would go with any skin color which is great because her diversity of models is beautiful. So it looks good on everything.”

How-to:

“You compliment it with the Naked Manicure Base because depending on skin tone and if one of the models came in and they have any kind of imperfections or have like staining because they came from a show and their nails look black or something, that really helps the camera flash neutralize the nails. The Naked Manicure system is like your concealer palate for nails.”

Do one coat of the Naked Manicure Perfector followed by two coats of Mia.

Finish it off with Gloss and Seal to seal it all together. “The Gloss and Seal is going to give you that mirror like finish. When you see the girls walking on the runway. If their nails look extra shiny it’s because of the Gloss and Seal. This a great top coat.”

How do the different shades of Perfector change the overall look?
I love that, I love … that’s the big question. Again, the great thing about the Naked Manicure System is you can apply it under color or over color. You apply it together, you can apply it with our Zoya polish line, you can kind of play with it with other colors too. But it really works great as a system.  Depending on skin tone, because Mia will go with every skin tone. That’s another thing, with Zoya colors, the pigments are meant to go and complement skin tones, but if someone is extremely cool tone or really warm tone, I would do just a buff with a tint of pink. I would add the buff over it to just change the hue a bit and brighten it up. If someone has a warmer tone I would bring the lavender to darken it up – make it rich because this is a very rich color.
