What was the inspiration behind this season’s collection?
Classic fairy tales. I reimagine the characters, and put a modern day spin to them.
You have a tendency to create pieces that you can adjust to wear in different ways. Was that in this collection as well?
This season, we have a lot of the removable linings. If you want to go a little bit more sexy you can, or you can wear the lining underneath the dress. The cuffs on the first red silk coat, those are snap cuffs. You can also put them on something else, or you can wear them by itself.
You had an amazing year. You had pieces worn by Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez. When you saw that, what went through your mind?
It’s so motivating. You’re like, “Okay, I have to keep on going. It’s going well.”
For sure! TV is actually doing really well. Are there any shows you binge watch?
I love Homeland. It’s not very romantic, but I love Claire Danes. I think Homeland is really what I make time for.
Are there other leading ladies out there, or up-and-comers that you would love to dress?
I would love to dress Jennifer Lawrence. She’s not very up-and-coming, but she is amazing. Beyoncé, of course. Kerry Washington I love. Florence Welch, even Adele. All over the map. The Georgine woman is so diverse. She can be anywhere.
How are you going to relax tonight?
We have a party, some alcohol. Vodka soda, with a lime. I also love champagne, red wine, anything. I’ll take it.
