Last night was all about Rihanna. Actually it was deeper than that, but since Riri was honored with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award and Drake professed his undying love for the Navy leader herself … [Jesus take the wheel] it was only right we stay on topic. Mmmkay?
One of my favorite artists, showed up and gave us a mini Anti concert while looking so fresh and put together through each set. And one of the people we have to thank is her hairstylist Yusef. He came to werk, werk, werk, werk, werk, werk using ghd and MOP products.
Yusef on hair Inspiration: “I wanted to show who Rihanna is and has been throughout her career. Her individuality is what made her into the icon she is today, so we wanted to highlight that with the hair. She is authentic and each look is some variation of a signature look that she’s had during her career.”
- Blow the hair dry with the ghd Air Hairdryer.
- Continue by straightening the hair with the ghd Platinum Styler.
- Use the MOP Mixed Greens Leave-In Conditioner to add smoothness before pulling into a high ponytail for it “to be sleek and sexy”.
- Now up, spray the hair with MOP C-System Firm Finish Hair Spray before going over it the ghd Curve Classic Wave Wand “to add a bit of wave and extra volume to it, and also to seal the hair and reduce flyaways”.
- To finish, spray MOP C-System Firm Finish Hair Spray again “to give the hair extra hold and luster.”
- Re-wet hair and blow it dry again using the ghd Air Hairdryer, brushing it back from the face with the ghd Natural Bristle Radial Brush.
- Once dry, apply MOP Mixed Greens Leave-In Conditioner “to smooth the edges and add softness”.
- Then use the ghd Platinum Styler to seal in the shine and “make it even straighter and smoother”.
- After, control flyaways and tuck hair behind the ears with MOP Orange Peel Molding Cream.
- “To finish the look and hold it in place” use bobby pins before adding MOP C-System Firm Finish Hair Spray to give the finished hair a glossy look.
