The Runners Knot | Step-by-step instructions: “This look is completely effortless,” says Penna.  “It’s a red carpet ready look that’s easily transferable to athletic chic.”

  • • Nick suggests applying a quarter size of L’Oreal’s EverStyle Texture Series Tousle Crème to dampen hair. This will give hair added texture and that “undone-yet-done look”
  • • Part hair down the center
  • • Gather hair in a low knot and secure tightly with elastic as desired
  • • Let wispy pieces daintily fall around the frame of your face
  • • Finish with a light spritz of hairspray. Nick recommends L’Oreal Professionnel Texture Expert Freezing Mist.

The Hidden Braid | Step-by-step instructions: “The hidden braid is a classic twist on the braided updo,” says Penna. “This hairstyle is perfect for runners because it’s up and away from the face, yet adds a feminine touch.”

  • • Gather all hair above the temple and clip it up so it’s out of the way
  • • Flip hair upside down and begin French-braiding the back section of the hair from the nape of the neck up towards the crown
  • • Don’t stress if you have bumps or mistakes; this hairstyle doesn’t call for perfection
  • • When you reach the crown, gently brush the rest of your hair back and gather it into a ponytail
  • • The next step is up to you; either wrap the ponytail up into a loose bun with an elastic, or leave it as a chic, high ponytail
  • • For an extra ounce of girly, curl the ends of your ponytail (if you decide to go that route)
  • • To secure the look, Nick recommends Kerastase Double Force Controle Ultime spray
