YOUNG DESIGNERS COLLECTIVE, DESIGNERS FOR GIVING

unnamed-1

Young Designers Collective, or YDC, is an collective that designers should keep an eye out for. Based in New York City, YDC is a non-profit association of artists and designers who create pieces of work for charity as well as individual exposure. Their sole purpose is to provide a platform for up and coming designers to garnish the help and guidance necessary to be successful in the over-saturated world of fashion.

Currently YDC is comprised of 3 designers including CEO, Shilpa Iyengar. As a Parsons School graduate she wanted to build an environment that aspiring artists and designer could safely come together and discuss ideas and skills. As most of her work has been printed or painted by hand, she strives to follow the literal definition of wearable art.

Other Young Designers Collective members include Hanh Lam and Harmony Pilobello.
