RESTAURANT HOTSPOT: BIJAN’S

People always think that Manhattan is where it’s at, but after a delectable meal at restaurant hotspot, Bijan’s, Brooklyn is giving Manhattan a run for its money. Owned by Jahan Matin, same creator of Sapphire Lounge in the Lower East Side, Matin with chef Peter Garst wanted to create a menu that had Persian influence but was ultimately American and Parisian style cuisine. The end result was a listing of out of this world creations palatable for even the not so adventurous types. Dishes like, Basil Shrimp with Spaghetti Squash, Shaved Cucumber and Pomegranate Salad with shaved Almonds, Feta and Herbs, or real Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with Whipped Cream and Blueberry Puree – hungry yet?

But they’re not only famous for their plates. Bijan’s mixologists create drinks that are not only innovative and delicious but medicinal.  Their signature drink, Bijan, mixes vodka, pineapple, mint with elderflower and cayenne with qualities to help build your immune system. A drink and health benefits in one, sounds like a win-win to me.

Bijans-Food

Located a short 10-minute walk from Barclay’s Center, in the oh so cool, Boerum Hill, Bijan’sshares their home to celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michelle Williams, Ethan Hawke easily transforming from a family friendly neighborhood daytime bistro to a nightlife local for clientele juggling both lifestyles. My dish of choice: Besides the aforementioned is the Lime, Sumac, and Rosemary Chicken Breast with Garlic  Mash & Haricot Verts.
