NYFW FALL 2014: REGALLY YOURS

The one thing I look forward to seeing on the runways are collections that can only be described by words such as “encrusted”, “embroidered”, or “embellished”. These adjectives discern pieces of such priceless magnitude, one only envisions it draped across the silhouettes of royals. Designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Reem Acra and Carolina Herrera always satisfy my fantasy of being of princess, yet sadly, only a couple fed my appetite this season. But let us not spend time on who didn’t do what, and focus on those who did.

I was surprised by how much I fell for Zac Posen’s pieces for Fall/Winter. From a designer that seems to create the same looks season after season, this gown was simple, elegant and perfect for any royal affair. Except a wedding… you never want to upstage the bride. And though Browne went modern medieval, others chose a signature royal robe similar to Tadashiand Lhuillier using vibrant reds and pinks against a simple black. Robes, or capes, with details so masterfully it demands nothing less than order from your loyal subjects.amj_FW-Royalty
