JOURNAL 1 – KICKSTARTING MY WAY TO A NEW ME

Every New Year I promise myself to start anew, in some way or another. But this year, I’m going to do it. Seriously. For the last few years of my life, I’ve realized there’s no bigger disappointment than letting yourself down. I’m not sure if it’s due to the fact you wake up and go to sleep to this same person every day, so there’s no avoiding them, or because of that self-love theory floating around. Whatever the reason is, I know it’s time for a change. And that change is happening in 2013!

Throughout this series, that is currently untitled, I’ll tell you about my trials, tribulations and all the products, tips and people that got me to the end. Today’s installment focuses on the mental aspect of my journey.

48-hour-cleanse

I started my health kick on Saturday with the 48 Hour Super Charged Cleanse by David Kirsch. It’s only 2 days, so it’s easy to follow and leaves you feeling energized, not faint. (Side note: The first few hours were a bit difficult, but I made sure I stayed busy throughout. Another tip is to set alarms for when it’s time to drink. If you go hours without fueling your body, you’ll become so famished, that the first thing in sight is what winds up in your mouth.) Obviously, a cleanse/detox/the worst 48 to 96 hours of, whatever you want to call it, isn’t for everyone. I only did it to prepare my system for what was to come – more portion control, greens, and lots of water.

Set-in-BW

Which brings me to my portion cheat sheet, Wine Trax. Wine Trax is dinnerware specially designed for proper portion control. Available in wine glasses, bowls and plates, you’ll never feel like the odd one out as the frosted lines dividing the dinnerware are discrete, yet easy to see.

I know it’s not much this time, but we’ll have more next time. I’m seeing a hypnotherapist Friday, meeting a few fitness experts to learn about the biggest mistakes dieters do, and a few other surprises.

So, until we meet again!
