John Varvatos celebrated the re-designed at Houston Hall in New York City. For years, I’ve always wondered what made Varvatos special when we’ve been equipped with several other male focused brands out there. But after last night I understood what Mr. Varvatos has been trying to tell us about fashion and personal style all these years – it’s about “Style & Substance”. Which also happens to be the name of their new monthly editorial section profiling men whose creativity and dedication to their work commemorates the spirit of John Varvatos’ own approach to his craft.  The “Style & Substance” currently features Mashable.comFounder and CEO Pete Cashmore, restaurateur Michael Chernow, comedian Anthony Jeselnik, actor Vincent Piazza, athlete Nick Swisher and professional chef Michael Voltaggio.

“Our brand is rich with history, style and experiences and the new site allows us to tell our story alongside our products,” says John Varvatos. The new site has also completely eliminated Flash to guarantee cross-platform compatibility. And as we all know a Varvatos event is the only event where the men out shine the women every time. From rapper Waka Flocka Flame, Quest Love (who had everyone dancing to their own beat) to The Carrie Diaries star Austin Butler, each style was representative of the person themselves, not what a ten page editorial tells them is in – which is probably why John Varvatos has been and will remain so successful. I’m just perplexed it took me so long to grasp his concept.
