Remember back in the day when you “HAD to have a Caboodle”? Do you also remember when you told your mom that same line and she looked at you like you were nuts? Seriously, Caboodles was everything to every girl. It’s where I housed my favorite flavored Lip Smacker and my mom’s red REVLON nail lacquer. It was my makeshift purse I took to Mass, even though it made noise as the lip balm rolled around inside. It was the one thing I showed off whenever we had house guests, even though they really didn’t care. Caboodle was a huge part of our childhoods and now they’re turning 25, which means it’s time to celebrate!
Invented after People magazine ran a photo of Vanna White using a plastic tackle box to store her make-up in 1986, Caboodles launched in 1987 in effect putting “cosmetic organization” on the map. And in honor of this iconic 80s cosmetic box turning the big 2–5, Caboodles is releasing 1,000 of the original Caboodles cases notably named My First Love. Still buzzing amongst celebrities, Caboodles has been on Project Runway, Pretty Little Liars and still toted around by Khloe Kardashian, Christina Applegate and Nicki Minaj.
