FAIRCHILD BALDWIN

What happens when you take publishing icons gene and mix it with the gene of the founding family of Hawaii? Well get two historically notable women, along with a well-crafted, intrinsically designed handbag collection.

Jill Fairchild and Karen Baldwin founded the handbag and accessories brand Fairchild Baldwin in 2013 after a cab ride where they realized the fashion industry was in dire need of an accessories renaissance. Fairchild bringing in her knowledge and in-depth understanding of the fashion world through a media standpoint (her father was the Founder and Publisher of W Mag and WWD), and Baldwin adding her know-how picked up from studying at Parsons, working at Michael Kors, and founding her own interior design firm – Fairchild Baldwin was equipped with the awareness and connections to create a contemporary bag line with a luxurious aesthetic.

Fairchild Baldwin’s sculpted circular handles double as the brand’s logo, reflecting the most Zen geometric shape, representing completion. As for inspiration, they pull from film, architecture, nature and travel.

In its second season, the bags range from $595 – $1,300  and are available at several stockists nationwide, online and at Synchro in Japan.Jill-and-Karen
